Choose to be motivated

In order to achieve the best in life most people seek to feel motivated, sometimes that does not come easy. In
order for me to feel motivated I basically had to put my foot down and make a concrete choice between letting life just slip
by me while I laid there with the blanket over my head or getting out there and chasing my dreams. One of the reasons why I like to inspire people to do better with their lives is that while I have a sincere desire
to help others, at the same time it motivates me when I hear the words I speak or read the words I write, it helps me take
a look at how I’m living my life. In other words, am I practicing what I preach?
“You gain strength, courage,
and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think
you cannot do.” Eleanor Roosevelt During those times when I felt the least motivated were the times when I had the most fear. I knew what I wanted
to do but I was afraid of failing at it, the more I thought about it the more afraid I became which at the same time depleted
my energy, and how can one feel motivated with no energy? The fear of failure is one of the
biggest factors in why people don’t pursue there goals or dreams. It is important to understand that failure is
part of life and some of the greatest success stories
were derived from experiencing failures. Start reducing fear by making
a decision to face it head on. At first a lot of the things that I managed to get done, was simply by just doing it and not thinking
about it to much. At first it was that conscious decision to get started although at the time I felt there was no great motivator.
First few times were hard I’m not going to lie to you, but after getting in the habit of pursuing
certain goals, my motivator were the accomplishments. It also helps to recognize that the decision to take control of
your life and emotions is a great accomplishment in it self. “Don’t
wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less
than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and
more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful.” Mark Victor Hansen Don’t linger in the sea of discouragement for too long, because that will definitely put a damper
on any kind of motivation you have developed. We will experience discouragements either from colleagues, friends or family
even watching the news can discourage us. So the thing to do is to temporarily step away from the people, place, or
thing. Remember, other peoples opinions do not have to become yours. There comes a time in a person’s
life where we have to realize that we are responsible for our own outcome. We can name all the reason’s why this or
that did not happen and we can stress repeatedly how disappointed we are, but at the end that will get us no where. I’ve
learned that focusing on the negative will take your focus of the solution and the solution lies in your choices, you either
do or you don’t.

Practicing
Patience and Perseverance
John Quincy Adams once said
that "Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish, and a
little knowledge that acts, is worth infinitely more than much knowledge that is idle." This is with out a doubt one
of my favorite quotes, especially the first two lines which I couldn't agree with more in the area of self improvement.
Individuals may spend countless hours reading wonderful self help books and attending
a variety of different therapy sessions. They learn a lot of valuable information but nothing seems to be changing their way
of life or thinking. Tons of money and time is being spent purchasing all of these self help items, only to find year after
year their life remains the same. They are still suffering from depression, anxiety and low self esteem, etc. Never realizing
that none of those self help books and therapy sessions is going to help unless the information suggested is applied and practiced
in an ongoing basis. It may also mean that all of this knowledge they have armored themselves with over the course of time
was not used when a battle presented itself. In recent years the
self help industry has become a billion dollar industry maybe even more. And partly I believe it is because people are looking
for a quick fix. So I suspect one of the things that may be happening is for example, they read one particular book and follow
an exercise expecting for some monumental change to take place in a limited amount of time. When it doesn't many people
tend to quickly look for the next quick fix, Another book, therapist or program that will guarantee the changes that will
place them back in the human race and make them feel better. Even worse, a person may even give up altogether missing the
two key component's - Patience and perseverance. It's easy
to implement a particular suggestion in one's life. But the real progress comes from continuous practice in the area and
the willingness to deal with the mishaps that may appear in between with out letting yourself become disillusioned on time
and quality. Of course we all know that what works for someone doesn't
mean it's going to work for you, and sure we should aim to find the appropriate measures that best suits us as an individual,
but when you catch yourself during the course of a year or less going through several self help programs with no results,
it may be time for you to stop and consider that perhaps not practicing patience and perseverance has something to do with
it. It might have taken months or years for a particular difficulties
to appear through an onset of different events. Therefore it might also take about the same time for them to disappear through
the practice of a suggestion given by an author, therapist or self help program. All along understanding that while trudging
the positive road there may be several times where you are going to stumble back into the negative side lines, always straightening
up and getting back on track without having to search for another road.

Tid bit corner.
Don't
feelings of anxiety to yourself. It often helps to talk to a friend or therapist who can help you find ways to deal with
it. A professional can also teach you skills to manage your anxiety.
- Instead of always work and study include recreational time in your schedule.

techniques.
